Internet replacement products

by Admin 10/26/2007 10:25:00 AM
We realize that internet access this year has not been what has been promised.  This is due to a product called Astaro that is, in no way, living up to its potential.  The worst of it is that I do not have access to the products own diagnostics features and can not see what is going on at any given time.Unfortunately, this product does more than just provide internet access and I can’t just rip it out of our network and replace it with a new product.  If I could, believe me, I would. I have installed other tools that allow me to see on what is going on the internet at any given time.   This tool does keep records of internet access as Astaro is supposed to. So currently I have to monitor the traffic in real time.  This in conjunction with a bandwidth monitor is helping to eliminate unwanted internet traffic.  But this is very time consuming for me. I will start moving all of the functions of Astaro onto other products ASAP. This should alleviate some of the problems with this product in the short term.  But we need to replace it in the long term. We are also in the process of researching new products that provide internet connectivity.  We should have one such product here on Friday.  The new product is not a replacement for the old one, but provides internet access using more current methods. One such upgrade is bandwidth control.  You should have bandwidth reserved for your internet browsing even when traffic is high.  We are also installing 5 times the bandwidth to allow your internet traffic to flow better.Sorry about the inconvenience as we work to correct this issue.
